Sacred Heart Homeschooling Co-op

Our co-op meets once a week through out the year. We share the joy of home schooling. We have Mass and Confession once a month. We currently have over twenty families! Our families come from Rio Rancho, Tijeras, Edgewood, Albuquerque, and Los Lunas.

Below is our Mission Statement and Co-op Guidelines:

CO-OP GUIDELINES 2013-2014

1. COOPERATIVE
A cooperative is only as good as its participating members. The success of our group is directly proportionate to the effort and support of each family. This is a cooperative community, and as such we do require that every family contribute. This can be done by teaching a class, assisting a teacher, website coordination, mass coordination, or other duties as needed by the community.

2. ARRIVAL
Please be on time. Late arrivals delay and disrupt the start of classes. Classes will begin promptly at 9:00 am.

3. RESPONSIBILITIES
Respect and cooperation are necessary for a successful cooperative experience. Students and parents are devoting their time and energy to teaching, assisting or participating in classes.
a. Students should come to class prepared with homework completed, materials ready and on time.
b. Large classes (ART specifically) require a parent or designated adult to attend with students 6 and under. Check with your teacher if you have questions about this rule.

4. BEHAVIOR
a. Please be considerate of other classes and teachers when in the hall and/or bathrooms so learning is not disrupted.
b. Parents, please remove crying children from classrooms.
c. All students will treat each other with respect. Any child misbehaving will be removed from class and taken to their parents by a teacher or teaching assistant.
d. Teaching assistants/parents will refrain from social conversations in classes. This distracts both teachers and students.
e. Cheating will not be tolerated.

5. CLEANING
Everyone will assist in clean up. Before you leave for the day, please be sure that any areas your family has used have been adequately cleaned.

6. SUPERVISION
At least one parent must be present at all times at co-op in order for a child to participate. Children should not be left unattended at any time, and may not be dropped off for classes.

7. FEES
Parents will be informed of any additional class fees for instruction or supplies. Art has a hired teacher and tuition fees, as well as possible supply fees.

8. ABSENCE POLICY
a. Teachers who will be absent from class must arrange for a substitute and inform the co-op board as soon as possible. Arranging for the transfer of materials and/or class instructions is the responsibility of the teacher.
b. Families who will be absent must notify Susan

9. SNOW DAYS/CANCELLATIONS
We will follow the Albuquerque Public Schools schedule for cancellations/delays due to snow. If APS has a delay or cancellation, our co-op will not meet. Please check the website at www.hsa4catholics.com for confirma
tion.
